I actually know this car and have talked to the owner extensively in the past...
it’s always good to see it on the road. (it’s a 1939 Traction Avant 11CV)

Very cool! My friend has a 1955 Traction Avant 6 cylinder and they are very cool cars. Thoroughly capable of keeping up with modern traffic and on cruises, he handily out-paces my 1969 Newport.

ooooh, the I6s are quite rare! From what I hear they have cooling issues if you try to keep them stock, but are great with modern radiators, an auxiliary water pump and an electric fan. I have also heard they have enough power that they can damage the output shafts of the transmission if your horse them around too much ;)
I have driven 11CV (4cyl) TAs before, and though I wouldn’t call them “quick” even they are perfectly capable of keeping up in modern traffic, and they have great brakes! 60MPH is very busy, and they won’t go much faster than 70, but the highway can be done ;)

You are very correct about the cooling issues! My friend’s car has an updated radiator and two electric fans to keep it cool. He seems to drive along at 65-75 mph no problem in that car. He’s fearless!

I’ve never even seen a 15CV (6cyl) before, let alone ridden in or driven, but if it’s anything like the 11CVs it’s a remarkable modern feeling car with responsive steering and chassis, good ride quality and road-holding and truely surprising brakes, my point being; your budy isn’t so much fearless as 11CV owners are wishing they had the 20+ more HP the 6 offers ;)
